I think that the people who procrastinate the most tend to be the most intelligent, sensitive and creative. (I also think they tend to commit suicide the most) These are the people that, when they need to do an unpleasant task, can create and envision within their minds, with vivid horrible detail, all the lurid nightmare scenarios that could possibly be involved with it. They do this so well and so quickly that it invokes an awful feeling that slowly seeps into every crevice of your body and you just want to suppress it with something else. So you write on Xanga when you have a million things to do. It’s the insensitive simple individuals who doggedly and gleefully jump in and plod ahead, oblivious or uncaring of the consequences of failure.
i agree. hell, i applaud you there. i may even quote you.
i also think you’re right about the giant squid being a holy grail for oceanographers.

This encourages me. I’m a horrendous procrastinator. This makes sense to me.

Am I the only sucka that doesn’t procrastinate??? I like to get the unpleasant stuff over as quickly as possible. Rip off the band-aid in one fell swoop. Now, if the matter isn’t urgent or painful… well… that’s another story…

A sure sign of an incurable procrastinator…rationalization.
…and now that you say it, the dog DOES look perverse. It’s beer stein. The dog is standing behind a grill, holding a hot dog and licking his lipe because he’s about to eat the hot dog (he’s probably procrastinating on another project of some kind). I thought it was funny because I put the picture next to the pig on the spit and thought it looked like he was about to eat that pig. Now, I just see perversion. Thanks for that. But I’m not changing it. I like that picture.
Have a good day.

I couldn’t agree with you more. In fact, I plan to kill myself soon… once I’m finished xanging. Thanks a bunch. Now I have to find the book and read it.

Yes, this is part of being a water sign. Me and my astrology. But it is true–we are the most prone to procrastination, because EVERYTHING is such a big deal. It’s all-or-nothing, black-and-white; it is hard to find objecitivity with such powerful emotion and passion overwhelming us. It is hard to envision things being successful; yet at the same time, we’re so afraid of failure, we know and (rightly so) expect that we will succeed, and it holds us back. We have more perception and power than most, because we are extremely perceptive and intuitive. Trust your feelings. You go and find that, okay? All the best, that is. I know you will.
