There are large blisters on my digits and palm. I applied something called mercurchrome and now the wounds blaze a gory, festering red. They came from the axe handles. I chopped wood for a few hours yesterday. A diseased Maple. I think I’ll creep downstairs and watch the Patriots play. Go, local sports team. We’re better than those other guys from somewhere else… I’m having trouble writing here. Maybe I’m falling into a routine. Oscar Wilde says that consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative.
you didn’t wear work gloves while you chopped wood? well, i guess we can kiss your career as a top hand model good-bye.
use gloves next time. better yet, i’ll come over and chop wood for you; you’re much too delicate for manual labor.

Even this ramble about mercurchrome sounded good to me. I like that stuff. It dyes the skin and makes people stare in horror.

I’m seeing Metric in concert for the third time. Crazy. Actually, the craziest part is that it is being held at the Wave. The WAVE?!?!
postscript: I love Oscar Wilde

merchurchrome? wow. i didn’t think they still made that stuff. i used to have every skinned knee and elbow stained a bright orange-red from that stuff when i was little. i think they may have quit selling it in the states–probably for some stupid ass reason.
that’s a good oscar wilde quote. he’s a very quotable fellow. i need to make an effort to read some of his stuff.
oh, by the way, i totally dug your post of all your first comments. that was fun. good idea.

I actually have a strange fascination with blisters. I love poking them and feeling the fluid squish around beneath the skin.
