Well well well. Here I am. 2:49AM. Drinking my second or third Trois Pistoles. 9% alcohol beer which is like two Canadian Beers which is like 4 American Beers. But not really because Canadians do it by weight and not volume or vice versa. Weightlifted and now beer and anime. Except I have no good anime. Just Love Hina and Azumanga Daioh which are ridiculous. I want some samurai anime. but no luck. Soon I guess. I think I’m going to move to Vancouver. I’ll show up at my little sister’s studio apartment with a futon matress and some blankets. She’ll love that. I’m on afternoons now. Nights only 1/3rd of the time. Sauna using, billiards playing, TV exercise room watching, nap-time taking freedom time is cut. Which is ok. Afternoon shifts are ok. Therapeutic and fun. Chipper and charming now. The old ladies love me. Got some free ice cream today from the oldest one. Caramel Vanilla. YUMMMY. I look better too. No more racoon eyes. Energy and bounce. Sugar sunshine and caffeine make me happy. I’m going to make my Polish friend golf with me. And I’m going to get some roller blades. And a job soon. Probably not Toronto. If it’s going to be the US I’ll need someone to act out the plot of green card with me.

  1. Heh good luck getting a US green card. My mom is a French citizen but lived in the US for 25 years and it took forever for them to accept her application to become a US citizen, cuz you know a French lady is so a terrorist. Hm, never tried Canadian beer before… I’ll add that to my list.

  2. Vancouver!  Vancouver!  I don’t know much about it, but the bloggers I read from there make it sound really great.  I hear they have good coffee too.     I bet there are lots of intramural hockey teams there too.  Your post almost reads like the lyrics from that song from “OK Computer” where the computer is talking to you in a litany of short sentences.   What is it about anime you like so much?  I’ve never really paid much attention to it, but those that do really really enjoy it.

  4. I’ve seen Love Hina! Usually, I miss most references to popular culture because I am deprived… or depraved. Whichever. Everyone needs a Polish friend to golf with, I think. How does the green card plot go, exactly?

  5. I’ll green card ya. šŸ˜‰ It’ll be like that chick from Porpoise Spit — Muriel’s Wedding. yeeeaaaa… btw I’m not kidding. haha
Love Hina — never really understood that one… Just thought it was the artist’s excuse to draw half-nekkid chicks.
You’re lucky you get ice cream. I don’t think I’ve had any in a loooonnng time. Been craving it for awhile… sheesh. My co-worker always teases me that I got dark circles under my eyes. I don’t know why because I sleep enough and at decent hours most of the time. Maybe I need to flip my mattress over? Yeah, that’s it. ah, bah the laziness. Ever the procrastinator.
Anyway… that’s all I guess. But on a serious note, if I were you I would probably stick to Canada. Seen any good movies lately?

  6. Caramel vanilla sounds good. Will you share?
So you’re not the nighthawk anymore? Good. No more raccoon eyes.  šŸ™‚ Sharing icecream with old ladies is worth the trade.

  7. Ah…drinking.  Have one for me, since I can’t.  One of my best friends has a little daughter named Beau.  It’s kind of a cruel thing to name someone, I think, but there are worst things to be called.

  8. green card?  only if you play andie mcdowell and i’m gerard something-something-du.
ryc: i should clarify that i ushered at the community college i work at.  at my university graduation last saturday, i had to line up with a bunch of other people and roast under the noonday sun in black polyester robes.  fun!  my advice: if you’re outdoors and it’s hot and sunny, wear sunsceen, bring sunglasses, dress lightly, hydrate and sit next to the tall guy so you can sit in his shadow.
