I’ve got some swell stuff to write about. But don’t feel like it yet. I had an interesting night. I feel mellow and nice.

I hope everybody who received a Jack Handey quote, enjoyed it. I was killing time inbetween class and it was a natural progression from Toonces.

The pretentious elite at indie torrents have voted on and declared the top fifty albums of 2004 (votes in parenthesis). I’m going to seek many of these. 1. Oooooooh! So that was what that quote was about! *LMAO* And here you had me thinking about pie heaven and what sort of pie you meant!!  Because, for some, pie heaven could really be paradise heaven!!

  2. I happen to like #1!!! It looks like a lot of others do too. That’s alright. People aren’t going to agree on everything.
Of the others, 35 stands out most to me. Did you like it? It rocks my socks.
36 is pretty good as well.

  3. Where do you get all these lists from? They are so interesting. I ought to ask Ian’s mom for some Indie music, I’ve never really listened to it 🙂 Oh, and the bahamas sound nice, much nicer than naming bones and trying to remember blood types for forensics. 🙂 But, I’m not too worried, my grades won’t change because of the tests…they are just a pain…

  4. Oh and you left a comment I didn’t understand. 🙂 It was “If God dwells inside us like some people say… I sure hope he likes pizza, cuz thats what he’s getting.” The post was about how I had a dream I was dancing with Ian, but it felt like dancing with God. If you could explain this, I’d really appreciate it 🙂 Thanks!

  5. The top album lists at another music only torrent site, OPP, also had arcade fire as their top album, but had franz ferdinand 2nd. These things are so arbitrary I think. I am unsure about Air. They are good, but I think they are a tad overrated. They either hit or miss big time with me. I never kept their stuff for very long though, maybe I will give it another try. Lucky you for having an indie torrents account, they are all filled up now. I will try again next time.

  6. I also LOVED #9, and i would add 10, 24, and 29 as freakin awesome. #31 is one my friend beth (see abbeyroadey) loves, and i’ve been meaning to listen to. i must say i’m more than a little upset that Midnight Movies didnt make the list… that album is one of the the best i’ve ever heard. But, this isn’t the first time that no one’s heard of my favorite band. 😦

  7. I knew I would summon the Arcade Fire deity (Meghantothemax) if I bashed them. I actually listened to that Walkmen album for the first time today, it was alright. A little rougher than I expected, but pretty good.
I really like the Elliot Smith album even though I never seem to be in the mood for it. I’ve never been a big Bjork fan. I used to put Vespertine on my stereo on low volume when I just wanted to relax though. I don’t like the Blonde Redhead one.
I’ve heard about half of the albume listed here, most of them are enjoyable if not spectacular. I favor music that is strongly melodic, which reflects in the albums I recommended. I usually don’t get into the experimental or ghostly ambient stuff, sometimes it just puts me into a foul mood. Punk, hip hop/rap and electronica are underrepresented on the list. AlexisOnFire – Watch out is another good one that I would have included. And the newest Sterophonics album.

  8. torrentbits.org was the real originator of that code for torrent sites. There are way too many places that copy that code without giving credit where it’s due, at least OiNK does. They are pretty respectable, just keep your ratio at 1 or above. Let me know if that invite system comes back up. Cheers.

  9. Out of those, I own Modest Mouse, Wilco and Bjork. I LOVE Ted Leo, Interpol, Iron and Wine, Elliott Smith, Franz.  I’ll have to check out some of that other stuff.
