5:20am. At work. Headache. Weary. I am a rotten employee. I actually used the sauna here for the first time ever tonight. I was cold so I decided it would be a nice way to warm up… it was. This place is very shining-like. A big upscale condo building with old fashioned decor. I am a glorified security guard/concierge with free reign of the place. Sometimes I watch TV in the exercise room, play pool in the billiards room etc. They dress me up in a suit and black silk tie … ehh maybe it’s rayon. Anyway, at night this place is kind of creepy. I don’t like the west wing hallway on the first floor. I’ve worked here for 3 or 4 years (all while a student) and I have known three people who have died living off/in that hallway. It always seems colder than all the other floors (even than the other wing on the same floor) and the light at the end of it always seems unusually bright. It is the only one I don’t walk down when I am checking for damage. Just got a shiver. ANd there was also that one time……..

  1. ok…. you officially creeped me out…. please make it go away!!!
I like this post for some weird reason. I think it’s because everyone complains about their job, but no one has ever said they were a rotten employee. I wish I could be a rotten employee too, but I just care about my animalitos too much. I wish I had your job but without the creepiness…. ok, I’ll take the creepiness too…

  2. Well, I’m glad I could spread a little of the anxiety I was feeling last night around. I was walking the hallways and got *that* feeling again as I got near *that* hallway. That place is really different at night, they make me turn out most of the lights to save energy so it is really dark. It doesn’t help that there are mirrors everywhere too. The oval, old-style type like was in The Ring video. Even the elevators are mirrored inside. Dark mirrors are really spooky, the human eye is really good at picking up movement in your peripherial vision. (I am getting shivers writing this.) Sometimes I think I see… then I look …. and… don’t know if it is an afterimage or my imagination…. I always thought there was something wrong with that hallway, even before the people died… One of the older guards once asked me if I ever saw anything.. and I said maybe… and he got the weirdest look on his face….
