I don’t wanna go to Boston.
Thursday.
I’ll go see Howl’s Moving Castle though. That’ll be a plus. I wonder if they’ll speak anglais this time. I doubt it. The bus trip’s 17 hours. Upstate New York is kind of sketchy. Not going to bring my laptop. I bought The Fortress of Solitude by Jonathan Lethem. I’ll read that on the way. It’ll be another plus. Shouldn’t I be excited to see my girlfirend? Who everyone assumes is my fiancé. But is just an unhealthy crutch. My parent’s like Merle. But at graduation my grandmother slipped into a conversation slyly, “Has anyone seen Fatal Attraction?” This flew over my parents and Merle’s head. Not with me though. What a keen old eye.
I feel uneasy about everything right now.
I hear Boston is sucky. I don’t want you to go either.I don’t remember commenting on the last post, but that episode of the Simpsons was pretty funny. Da da da da da…Chomp chomp, chomp chomp…

If you really don’t like her that much, you really ought to leave her. I mean, I can understand not being uber excited or anything, but you sound like you are just plain dreading it. It can’t be easy, but it should make you happy to be with someone…

Your dislike of Merle has become a constant in my life. Thank you for that, in a weird way.Was the movie any good? Episodes of Full Metal Alchemist from the beginning of the series have been playing on Adult Swim recently, and I am enthralled. Anime is becoming more and more appealing.I’m grinning because you don’t like Boston. I’ve never been there… but once my history profesor told us that the water in the harbor still looks and tastes like tea today, as a result of the epic events of the Boston Tea Party. Please be sure to drink some and let me know.

I’m still for throwing away the crutch. The splinters are only giving you various different serious infections.

…as a matter of fact, we do in fact, get to do “jazz hands” during ‘Broadway Rhythm’, but it goes by really quick so you don’t even realize you just saw jazz hands. Plus we wave them in the air like we don’t care…so again, they’re really jazz hands in disguise.

I agree with C, crutches need to go, especially the unhealthy variety. When I went ot see Howl’s Moving Castle it was in english but you never know

i wish i could say something nice and encouraging, but i honestly can’t (so i shouldn’t say anything at all, right? mamma taught me that). the whole thing sounds shitty. good luck, peace, and remember, “This too shall pass.” and listen to your grandma. Grandmas are wise.

Well now, I don’t sound like that. Trust me. A little twang, and that’s it. Some people around here hardly even sound like they’re speaking English. It’s insane.
You like Sammy solo? Then solo he stays.

that’s a tough sticky situation. sounds like it’s one of those love vs. comfort/security. which would you rather have? a loveless relationship with the other or vice versa? i guess it comes down to what you value and what can you live with in the future. does one necessarily mean a lack or surplus in happiness/contentment? she deserves to be loved.. everyone does. but if you both think you could put love aside just for comfort and security then it could work if you make it. anyway goodluck with all that.

Hey, here’s a science question for you to get your science brain muscle moving again. I’ve already sent it to another friend of mine too. If you have a good answer, please post it on Maldavian’s blog and let him know happyboogie sent you. Tell him you’re not Laurel. Thanks!
His first question:
“If anyone knows a gellan media that promotes root proliferation, please let me know. I’ve got a meeting with the boss on Friday. lol.”
His follow-up story when I asked about it: “My R&D meeting is on Friday, all it is is saying what you’ve done. I’ve done enough, so I won’t get in trouble, but there has been this thing that’s bothering me. I call it subculture decay. See, we work with plants, and when you grow the plantlets, you grow them on this nutrient-rich “media”. Usually, the media promotes “shoot proliferation” or the rapid growing of the leaves and stems. Then, you can typically let the plants grow for a while, you’ll end up having a couple of plants, and you can cut some of them into smaller plantlets and start from scratch. This is called “subculturing”. The problem is, after you do this for a while, the plants stop growing roots. Plants have cells that are like human stem-cells, called “callus” that can turn into either root or shoot. This callus clumps up on the bottom like a giant cancerous tumor after a few subcultures, and the plants stop rooting. Then people typically throw these plants away and start fresh from their “mother block”, which is a large mass of a plant designed to grow slowly so you can take lots of samples from it. What I want to do is design a rooting media so that the shoots take a break and the callus turns into root instead. If I can design just the right media, you’ll never have to go back to the mother block again.”
