I feel like listening to the Beatles. There’s none on the comp though.

(My computer soundcard lines out to an amplifier which heads out to my big Akai speakers positioned at each corner of my little living room/dining area so I get a really nice deep booming sound off of music played from my computer. The amp is old and cheap so the sound is a little warm, just the way I like it.)

*brb, off to get an anthology CD from my room* I just put in disk 2 CD 2. Yes… this is what I want right now. I have missed this. I don’t even feel like writing much anymore. I just want to melt into my bowl chair, close my eyes and savor John Lennon’s golden vocal cords and sweet melodies. I love how raw the anthology CDs are. Even on the rough cuts the astronomical level of talent is apparent.

Hey, You’ve got to hide your love away….

It was a hard day. I pair programmed for most of it with a good friend. We completed our final networking assignment and it works wonderfully. I have a higher priority assignment overdue but I felt strongly obligated to him since he really helped me out on something else school related in an extreme act of kindness.

Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play.
Why she had to go I don’t know, she wouldn’t say.

It was Indian night at the grad club. I had delicious Butter Chicken on rice for under six dollars (don’t they call that Chicken Muglai?) Mogwai? Gizmo?. It was the best food I have ever had on campus.

Haven’t shaved since Sunday night, looking pretty scruffy.

Sorry, that’s all I’ve got tonight. I’m totally fried and Norwegian Wood just came on.

  1. i only really know one song by the beatles… i’m sure that i know more i just know that one song is DEFINITELY by them….  and they are using it for nike commercials now.  which is totally weird cause it was suppose to be a revolutionary song and now it’s commercialized.

  2. I’m afraid your comments might of been even more generalized then my post…nihilistic…depending to what degree you take it…and generalized, only to the public…yet to anyone who has continued to read my thoughts may understand…how do you disagree??

  3. I love some Beatles, but some of it grates on me. I can’t STAND Hey Jude, especially the end… na na na nanananananaaaaaaaaaa hey joooooooooood judejudiejudiejudiejudiejudie awwwwwwwrrraaaaah!
About cars… you said “I think SUVs are a by-product of a sick society.”
and I agree, to a degree. I appreciate an environmentally sound car that gets good gas mileage (and so does my wallet11). And I understand your disdain for consumerism and other’s mistreatment of the environment. My sister has a GMC Yukon with ungodly large rims and two (TWO!) TV monitors and a DVD player. I see how, for her and a lot of other people, it is a symbol of excess; a means of flaunting wealth. I get it. But we often J and I find ourselves in situations where we have to borrow someone else’s truck to haul palm frauns to the dump, or move appliances… just last week, we bought a ladder (can you picture a ladder poking out the top of a Miata?) and had to drive across town to borrow a truck. Having a house greatly alters your needs in terms of transportation and vehicles. And I’m sure kids change things even more – can you imagine loading kids into a Prius? I’m not discrediting your environmental concerns. I’m sickened by the wave of excess and giant SUV’s everywhere. But when you’re looking at making an investment in a vehicle that you’re going to have for 5+ years, you have to think about your needs. If I just needed to get to work, a Prius would meet my needs. But now, I need something bigger than that.

  4. I’ve used him before and I’ll use him again…Ghandii is perhaps one of the most famous men who have faught oppression (and succedded in ways most have not), yet like in my post, he realized that his country was divided in hatred, and this could be far worse then outside oppression.  Not to rid man of the fight against oppression, but reminding him it is not his first duty…for many have died under oppression, still have been called men and lived a great life.
