2025 me here: Unsurprisingly, the old 2004 links are all broken.
I can’t wait for the universities response on this, they are so reactionary over even small issues due to UWO’s perceived party school image. This sure won’t help haha. The following story was from our student paper, the gazette, today. The trailer is here: Porn Trailer and a cheesy porn review here. Seriously, I think I know one of the guys on the boxcover, what a dork. I don’t know how I feel about this.
Porn flick filmed near Western “really popular” at Sin City
By: Marshal Bellamy
Ordinarily, the release of an adult video such as College Invasion 4 would only arouse the attention of a select few; this time, however, many are wondering if rumours of the video being shot near campus are true.
“Prior to advertising I contacted [the production company] and verified it. It’s definitely true — it was filmed near campus,” explained Ian Dunlop, general manager of Sin City Adult Superstore.
“You really can’t tell it’s in London,” he noted of the film, adding the whole event was initially in good fun but has now taken a sour turn for the participants in the house.
“The only bad thing is other people’s moral issues,” Dunlop remarked.
The Gazette visited the house where the video was filmed and although the occupants who participated in the filming last year did not wish to comment, a roommate speaking on the condition of anonymity said his fellow roommates regret taking part in the video.
According to this individual, the participants in the video have recently grown increasingly nervous after a local TV news program ran a story about the house’s past and hinted that the university may investigate the matter further.
Christine Roulston, media relations officer with Western’s department of communication and public affairs, denied any investigation is underway.
“There’s no truth to the New PL story,” she said, though she was quick to distance the university from the making of the video. “The university has no involvement with the production of the film.”
Despite the controversy, Dunlop mentioned sales for the video have been good.
“[College Invasion 4] has been really popular; we’ve already sold out at some locations.”
Did something kind of asshole-ish this morning. Yesterday when I was watching CNN (not a usual thing), this guy named Jack Cafferty was taking shots at http://www.airamericaradio.com/ because they only have 30 or so stations across the U.S. He then contrasted it to the number of stations that Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly have which is somewhere in the range of 400 or so stations (he failed to mentioned that’s due to the fact that 95% of the radio stations in the US are owned by two corporations). The thing he doesn’t realize though is that Air America radio is hugely popular through online streaming, I listen to it fairly often and like quite a few of the shows. Sometimes the hosts are a little overbearing and the criticism isn’t all together that focused or totally credible, but yes, overall, I like Air America radio (Morning Sedition is a favorite, Mark Maron is dark and funny and cynical a bit like me, more neurotic though). So the ignorance of this old CNN pundit pissed me off so I got his press photo off of cnn.com and modified it by sticking the clear channel logo right on his big old forehead with a little bit of text then I emailed it to his “question of the day” segment. I think it’s pretty likely he saw it because they read emails off on that show pretty frequently. On another note, looking forward to the debate tonight.
So burned out right now. Have to scrape up some motivation. I don’t like having coffee at 1am but it’s a necessary evil. I killed myself to get an assignment done today and now I have to repeat the performance tonight. I feel like just curling up in my pajamas in bed, stretching out and just relaxing without a care in the world. In short, I suppose I want to be a cat tonight… Instead I need to shower, have my coffee and head to the computer lab in the middle of the night to work on another godawful assignment. What a bland post, a procrastination post. I setup a bunch of album torrents earlier, nothing too remarkable, a lot of mainstream since I used supernova and searched for “2004” in various categories. I grabbed a couple off of www.indietorrents.com too though. Laurel Music – This Night and the Next, and Stars – Set yourself on fire. I hope they are good. My hair feels really soft tonight.
Dude, you sound like you’re starting to burn out and it’s only the beginning of the semester…take care of yourself. I’m also obsessed with US politics at the moment and as a result have turned into an NPR junkie.
